The strong heatwave that has engulfed the Western Balkans will continue into the first days of the week, bringing extremely high temperatures that in some areas are expected to reach up to 43 degrees Celsius.
According to meteorological forecasts, Monday will record maximum temperatures of 40-41°C, while on Tuesday the thermometer could climb to 41-42°C, with local values that may even touch 43°C. Wednesday will also remain under the influence of the intense heat.

However, from Thursday, July 23, forecasters predict a change in the atmospheric situation. The penetration of cooler air masses is expected to bring a drop in temperatures, while in some areas of the southwestern Balkans there may be rain showers and isolated storms.
Europe is experiencing one of the hottest summers in recent years. Record temperatures have particularly hit the countries of the region, while since June it is reported that over 12,000 people have lost their lives on the continent as a result of extreme heatwaves.
