A Sky Airlines flight from Santiago to Concepción, Chile, returned to its departure airport after encountering severe turbulence and adverse weather conditions that frightened passengers.
Local media reported that winds in the area reached up to 107 kilometres per hour, preventing a safe landing at Concepción Airport.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning. The aircraft operating flight SKY 161, which had departed from Santiago, encountered considerable difficulties during its landing attempt. The pilots aborted the landing procedure due to strong winds and turbulence, deciding to return to Santiago Airport.
Footage posted on social media shows moments of anxiety inside the cabin as the plane experienced severe shaking and passengers endured the frightening situation.
According to Chile’s Meteorological Service, Dirección Meteorológica de Chile, winds of up to 107 km/h were recorded at Carriel Sur Airport in Concepción, creating dangerous landing conditions.
Although the situation was tense, the aircraft returned to Santiago without incident, and no injuries were reported.
