After benefiting from the penal amnesty measure, Erisa Fero was released today from the women’s prison in Pojskë. She was arrested in December 2022, when law enforcement discovered 58 kilograms of cannabis in her car as she was traveling on the Pogradec–Qafë Thanë road segment. According to investigation data, the narcotics shipment had a final destination of North Macedonia.
The case attracted widespread media attention due to the position Fero held in public administration structures. Immediately after her arrest, AKSHI confirmed her dismissal from duty. Now, after serving a certain period of her sentence, she has been released as a beneficiary of the amnesty.
