Ramush Haradinaj, former Prime Minister of Kosovo, has called on the country’s institutions to begin efforts without delay to place Kosovo’s candidacy for NATO membership on the agenda of the Alliance’s next summit, which is expected to be held in Albania.
In a reaction published on Facebook, Haradinaj stressed that joining NATO should be treated as a strategic priority for the state.

“Kosovo must act immediately so that its membership candidacy is discussed at the next NATO summit in Albania. Even though time is short, with serious work this goal is achievable,” Haradinaj wrote.
He also expressed criticism toward those who, according to him, do not support this goal.
“Whoever does not support this strategic objective of Kosovo is either short-sighted, or does not understand the responsibility of the office they hold,” the former prime minister stressed.
Haradinaj has repeatedly said that Kosovo’s membership in NATO should be considered a national priority, as he sees it as the strongest guarantee for the country’s security and euro-atlantic future.
