Officers from the “Shqiponja” Special Force, in cooperation with crime investigation specialists from Police Station No. 4, carried out the coded operation “Shenja.” Three people were arrested by police, and firearms with ammunition were seized from them during searches. According to the police statement, one of those arrested was under the security measure “house arrest.”

“Tirana Police Directorate/Over the last 24 hours, 2 more operations against illegal possession of weapons have been completed. 3 weapons and hundreds of bullets were seized. 3 citizens who were moving around armed, kept weapons at home for the purpose of sale, or had violated a security measure, were arrested. As part of ongoing operational work aimed at identifying and apprehending citizens who possess and/or sell firearms and, as a result, pose a danger to citizens and public safety, 2 operations in this field were completed during these 24 hours.
Specifically:
-officers of the “Shqiponja” Special Force, in cooperation with crime investigation specialists from Police Station No. 4, carried out the coded operation “Shenja,” as a result of which citizens Sh. S., 31, and Sh. Sh., 43, were caught traveling in a vehicle on Dibra Street and were arrested, because during the search, 1 firearm (pistol) with ammunition was found on the 31-year-old, while checks revealed that the 43-year-old was under the security measure “house arrest”;
-crime investigation specialists from Police Station No. 6 carried out the coded operation “Kodra,” as a result of which citizen F. H., 69, was arrested after searches of his home in the village of Kodër Kashar found 1 firearm (pistol) with ammunition and 1 hunting weapon with 112 bullets, which are suspected to have been possessed for the purpose of sale.
The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further action.”
