Over the past 24 hours, police in Macedonia have detained 28 drivers across the country for what was described as “irresponsible driving.”
According to the announcement, 25 of them were driving vehicles without a driver’s license. Of these, eight were caught in Skopje, four in Bitola, two each in Veles, Sveti Nikole, Tetovo and Kičevo, and one each in Delčevo, Kočani, Kavadarci, Negotino and Kumanovo.

Police also said that one person each in Čaška and Tetovo was found driving a passenger vehicle despite having an active driving ban. Meanwhile, one person in Gevgelija was caught moving at a speed above the permitted limit.
After the documentation of the cases is completed, the appropriate criminal charges will be filed against them.
The Ministry of Interior is calling on all road users to obey traffic rules, not to drive a vehicle without having passed the driving test, if they have a driving ban, or if they are under the influence of alcohol, in order to contribute together to safer traffic.
