Fire extinguished in Shijak, traffic on the Tirana-Durrës route returns to normal

The fire that broke out in the Koxhasi area of Shijak has been extinguished and the flames have been brought under control. The fire started in an area of grassland, but was fueled by strong winds that allowed it to spread across the area.

As a result, thick plumes of smoke spread onto the Tirana-Durrës highway, causing difficulties for vehicle traffic. Five firefighting units went to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames and bring the situation under control.

Fortunately, no damage to homes or businesses has been reported, nor have any injuries. Authorities are continuing to investigate to determine the cause of the fire, while vehicle traffic has returned to normal.
