A large number of Albanians from the diaspora are expected to arrive in Tirana today to take part in the 35th national protest against Prime Minister Rama and his government.
According to a statement by one of the diaspora protest coordinators, one group of protesters is coming from Igoumenitsa, while another will enter Albania through the Muriqan border crossing.

He called on the prime minister to resign before it is too late and make way for an apolitical transitional government.
“Some Albanians from Switzerland, Italy and Greece have traveled to Igoumenitsa and are coming from the South. Belgium, France, Austria, Britain and Germany are coming from the North. We have traveled for two full days. This call to unite our voice is extraordinary.
The launch we made from Britain was that this had to be a political protest. We set the condition that the protest be political. We call on Rama, the uncrowned king, that you have made a mess of it. We are here with only one condition: resign before it is too late and make way for an apolitical transitional government,” the diaspora protest coordinator declared.
As the footage shows, the Albanians have formed a kilometer-long line of vehicles on the road, with red-and-black flags clearly visible.
