A 28-year-old man of Peruvian origin has died in Milan after he is suspected to have drowned during a dive in a swimming pool that he and some friends had entered illegally after closing time.
The incident was recorded on the evening of July 2 at the municipal “Romano” swimming pool in the Citta Studi area. Italian media report that the group had climbed over the fence to enter the sports facility, which was closed at that hour.

Shortly after 23:00, emergency teams arrived at the scene and immediately began efforts to revive the 28-year-old. However, despite their attempts, he was taken in critical condition to Policlinico Hospital and died a short time later.
Italian authorities have opened an investigation to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident. The exact cause of death is expected to be determined by the autopsy.
