Thousands of citizens fill the Boulevard as Rama continues accusing the protesters and blames the situation on citizens, not corruption and unfulfilled promises

Again this afternoon, Prime Minister Edi Rama continued his attacks on the protesters, who for more than a month have been gathering every evening on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard to demand his departure.

In a reaction published on X, Rama called the protesters “the black crust of the sore losers of the Boulevard,” reiterating that, in his view, certain interests are behind these protests.

These statements by the head of government come as the civic protests have entered their 33rd day. The organizers say the discontent is linked to corruption, the way the country is governed, unfulfilled promises, and the economic situation in the country.

Despite the language used by Rama, the protesters have announced that the mobilization will continue, with the demand for his resignation and the holding of early elections.

In his reaction, Rama said: “The turn to physical violence is the only thing that the black crust of the sore losers of Tirana’s political-media boulevard can now produce, collectors of criminal precedents and the foreign hands behind them! More patience is still needed, and then the time for reflection will come.”
