When a Jeep Renegade smashed through the glass and into the store, owner Dailane Augusta da Silva Baba, a businesswoman known as Guta, was presenting products during a livestream alongside an employee.
The entire scene was captured both by the camera used for the livestream and by security cameras. The footage then spread rapidly online, going viral.
The employee suffered minor injuries in the accident. In a subsequent social media post, the owner said everyone was fine, although the crash had caused extensive property damage.
In her statement to the Military Police, the driver told officers from the 22nd Community Police Unit (Cicom) that she had lost control after falling asleep at the wheel.
The driver has been questioned and is under investigation as authorities continue working to establish the exact circumstances of the accident.
