Students move protest to Prime Minister’s Office as chants ring out: “Rama in jail, Berisha in jail!

Students have moved their protest to the Prime Minister’s Office, where they continued chanting against Prime Minister Edi Rama and the political establishment. “Rama in jail, Berisha in jail,” “Criminal police” and “Shame, shame” were among the slogans shouted by the young protesters, who carried red-and-black national flags.

The protesters are demanding Prime Minister Rama’s resignation, a call they have repeated throughout 21 days of protests. They oppose the current political establishment and say a revolution is needed to change the country’s leadership.

Today’s protest follows student actions that began in the morning, when groups of young people entered several faculties, including Law, Natural Sciences and Medicine, and called for a boycott of classes. Fellow students joined the boycott, then took to the streets and headed toward the Prime Minister’s Office.
