The space intended to serve as shelter for workers engaged in building the swimming pool has become a place where, judging by the remains found there, various types of drugs are used. The small structure is located in the courtyard of the “Kirili e Metodij” primary school in Tetovo.
The risk to students is further increased because the space has not been fenced off or isolated from the rest of the school, while the swimming pool pits have also been left open. The principal says she reported the case to the police, but the Tetovo Sector of Internal Affairs denies receiving such a report.

The school principal, Sihana Kaba Kasami, said that she monitors everything through the security cameras, but that she learned about the situation from the media.
Journalist: Did you report the case to the police and take measures to isolate the structure, given that it is located in the school courtyard?
“The structure is in our school courtyard, but we no longer have authority over that area, as it has been handed over to the investor. Consequently, responsibility lies with the investor and it is no longer under our care. I, just like you, saw that footage,” replied Sihana Kaba Kasami, principal of the “Kirili e Metodij” primary school.
“At the Tetovo Sector of Internal Affairs, neither during the past week nor earlier was there any official report of such a case,” said Fatmir Rexhepi, spokesperson for the Tetovo Sector of Internal Affairs.
Kasami also said that two police officers are present at the school during the day, overseeing the teaching process and the movement of students during the long break.
“We also have security during the day. Two police officers are stationed throughout our school and monitor the progress of the teaching process, as well as the movement of students during the long break,” principal Kasami said.
The police also denied this statement, explaining that no officers have been assigned specifically to the “Kirili e Metodij” school.
“There are no police officers assigned specifically to a single school. When two schools are located in one area, police officers patrol or cover both buildings,” said Fatmir Rexhepi, spokesperson for the Tetovo Sector of Internal Affairs.
Students’ sense of insecurity is also heightened by employees’ vehicles being parked inside the school courtyard, where primary school students move around./Alsat.mk.
