Memedi warns of daily protests: The bar exam must be held entirely in Albanian

Law students have deemed the solution proposed by Justice Minister Jeton Shasivari for the bar exam inadequate. For this reason, they have announced the resumption of protests, insisting that the exam be held 100 percent in Albanian.

Suhejb Memedi, a representative of the student association, said the next protest would differ from previous gatherings. According to him, the students will remain in front of the Ministry of Justice every day.

“We do not accept half-measures. We have protested and we will protest again. We went to former Minister Filkov twice without an invitation. We also made it clear to Minister Jeton Shasivari that this protest would be different and that we would be in front of the Ministry of Justice day after day. Either we will resolve this properly, as is fitting for us, or we will abandon the matter altogether,” Memedi said.

At the last meeting, the students and Minister Shasivari failed to reach a final agreement. The students insisted that the main part of the exam should be held in Macedonian.

Meanwhile, the country’s prime minister, Hristijan Mickoski, said that Macedonian is also an official language in the justice system. For this reason, he said, it must be respected and the exam must be held in accordance with the law. /Telegrafi/
