The University Clinic of Urology has performed 15 kidney transplants this year. By comparison, 11 were carried out throughout 2025. Three more transplants using organs from living donors are expected by the end of this year.
Minister of Health Sasho Klekovski visited three patients who recently underwent transplants: two received kidneys from deceased donors, while one received a kidney from a living donor. During the visit, he expressed his gratitude to the families for their humanitarian act.

Klekovski underscored that organ donation saves lives and enables patients to live without the need for dialysis.
The minister was accompanied by the national transplant coordinator, Biljana Kuzmanovska, as well as the heads of the Urology and Nephrology clinics, Bashkim Shabani and Nikola Gjorgjievski.
