Traffic lights equipped with audible signals have been installed at four locations in Tetovo to increase safety and facilitate mobility for blind people.

The new installations were presented by Tetovo Mayor Bilall Kasami in cooperation with representatives of the Association of Blind People, marking International White Cane Day.
In a Facebook post, Kasami said the devices would help people with visual impairments cross the roads more safely and independently.
As part of measures to improve accessibility, the pavements have also been lowered for people with special needs, making circulation and independent mobility easier for them.
“We continue to build a Tetovo without barriers, with equal opportunities and safety for all citizens!” Kasami wrote.
The audible traffic-light signals and pavement adaptations aim to create a more accessible and safer public space for all citizens.
