Upon arriving at the Special Court, where the next hearing was being held, journalists asked her whether she had seen the videos. Kryemadhi replied, “Yes,” and stressed that the person who filmed them and the person who published them must face punishment.
“What it has left me with is a very ugly feeling, especially because of the victims, the women and girls involved, whoever they may be. It is an extremely despicable act on the part of the person who made and recorded them and then distributed them, and they should be punished,” she declared.
Kryemadhi added that an individual’s private life should not become the subject of public judgment.
“No one has any business concerning themselves with what a person does in the bedroom or with how they live privately. What is more troubling is the way we have begun judging these situations and the country’s entire social life, which is terrible,” she said.
According to her, the fact that an intimate video provokes more reaction than social and economic problems constitutes a national tragedy.
“To feel more violated by a pornographic video you watch than by high taxes, the departure of young women and men, or Albania’s depopulation is a great tragedy and, for me, a national tragedy. I feel very sorry and disgusted by those who did this,” Kryemadhi concluded.
