Tensions continue near the Prime Minister’s Office, where protesters have clashed verbally with police officers ahead of the arrival of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Police moved the protesters back and kept them outside the security perimeter established around the Prime Minister’s Office.
During the police operation, protesters shouted slogans against the police and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Chants heard during the protest included “Gysi’s police,” “Criminal police,” “Arrest Rama” and “Shame.”
In footage obtained, officers can be seen forming a cordon to move people away from the area, while protesters resist and continue shouting.
The protest is taking place shortly before von der Leyen’s visit to the Prime Minister’s Office, where she is expected to meet Prime Minister Edi Rama. Authorities have stepped up security in the area in light of the visit and the announced protest.
