The Special Court of Appeal has upheld the sentences previously handed down by the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) against Gëzim Bakalli and Erjon Loci, who were charged with drug trafficking and participation in a criminal group.

Gëzim Bakalli was sentenced to 19 years in prison. However, under the abbreviated trial procedure, his sentence was reduced by one-third, bringing it to approximately 12 years and 8 months in prison.
Meanwhile, Erjon Loci was sentenced to 12 years in prison, a sentence that was reduced to 8 years under the abbreviated trial procedure.
The case against the two defendants was investigated by SPAK special prosecutor Adnan Xholi, who charged them with the criminal offenses of drug trafficking and participation in a criminal group.
With the decision of the Special Court of Appeal, the sentences handed down by GJKKO remain in force, while both defendants benefit from sentence reductions under the abbreviated trial procedure.
