On Wednesday morning, Korçë police chief Vilson Bala appeared at the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK). As initially reported, Bala, who previously headed the Durrës police and served as head of the operational unit in Tirana, was expected to be questioned about the Ergys Agasi case.
After spending 40 minutes at SPAK, Bala emerged and was asked by journalists why he had appeared at the Special Prosecution Office. He evaded the question, saying ironically, “I don’t know why I had a premonition that I would be here.”

Businessman Ergys Agasi was arrested a month ago in Shkozet while being accompanied in a vehicle by former police director Uljan Shpataraku, the right-hand man of former police chief Ilir Proda.
The latter had also appeared at SPAK several days earlier for questioning, reportedly in connection with the Agasi case.
The latest scandal linked to Agasi involved wiretaps with former SHISH director Vlora Hyseni, who was placed under house arrest by SPAK.
