Italy: Van fatally strikes 5-year-old girl near shopping center in Bolzano

A 5-year-old girl has died in Italy after being struck by a van in central Bolzano, near a shopping center.

The child was rushed to hospital, but the serious injuries she sustained in the collision proved fatal.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, September 29, at around 10:20 a.m. on Via Garibaldi, in front of one of the entrances to the WaltherPark shopping center and near the train station.

Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
