Two people wanted internationally have been arrested in Tirana and Rinas as part of the international operation codenamed “The Wanted”.

The arrested individuals are Ervin Dakoli and Hamdi Krasniqi.
Forty-seven-year-old Dakoli was arrested for extradition to Italy, after the Bologna Court issued an arrest warrant against him in May 2026 for participation in a criminal conspiracy aimed at trafficking narcotics.
“This citizen is accused of having organized and carried out, during 2020 and in cooperation with other citizens, the purchase, transportation, importation, preliminary storage and possession of large quantities of narcotics (marijuana, hashish and cocaine) trafficked in Italy for the purpose of sale,” police said.
Thirty-eight-year-old Hamdi Krasniqi was arrested in Rinas after, according to Kosovo authorities, the Peja Court of Appeals sentenced him in 2022 to one year and six months in prison for counterfeiting banknotes.
In cooperation with other individuals, the 38-year-old is suspected of having attempted to put approximately $15,000 in counterfeit currency into circulation in Peja during 2021.

Two internationally wanted citizens have been detained in Tirana and Rinas on behalf of the justice authorities in Italy and Kosovo.
As part of operational and intelligence cooperation with counterparts, coordinated by the Interpol Directorate, with the aim of locating, detaining and extraditing internationally wanted citizens, two individuals were detained in Tirana and Rinas:
-Specialists from the Sector for the Investigation of Criminal Groups at the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime, within the Department of Criminal Police, in cooperation with the Tirana Local Police Directorate, apprehended and arrested, for extradition to Italy, citizen E. D., 47, born in Kavaja. In May 2026, the Bologna Court issued an arrest warrant for participation in a criminal conspiracy aimed at trafficking narcotics.
This citizen is accused of having organized and carried out, during 2020 and in cooperation with other citizens, the purchase, transportation, importation, preliminary storage and possession of large quantities of narcotics (marijuana, hashish and cocaine) trafficked in Italy for the purpose of sale.
-Kosovan citizen H. K., 38, was arrested in Rinas for extradition to Kosovo. In 2022, the Peja Court of Appeals sentenced him to one year and six months in prison for counterfeiting banknotes.
Citizen H. K., in cooperation with other citizens, attempted to put approximately $15,000 in counterfeit currency into circulation in Peja during 2021.
Interpol Tirana continues its cooperation with counterparts in Rome and Kosovo to finalize the procedures for the extradition of these citizens.
