As Krasniqi’s defense lawyer during the trial at this international court, Sherifi acknowledged the importance of expressing outrage through rallies, but stressed that efforts must also continue through official state channels.
In a public statement, he underscored that protests remain a necessary way to demonstrate dissatisfaction, but at the same time, representatives of the government and the opposition must engage seriously at the institutional level.
“Protests express outrage. The institutions, both the government and the opposition, must wage the battle!”, Sherifi wrote.
He called on the government, the Assembly and the justice institutions to use all available instruments — whether political, legal or diplomatic — to protect Kosovo’s interests and the legacy of the KLA.
Subsequently, Sherifi criticized the limited approach that relies mainly on demonstrations and warned that, in order to achieve a different outcome, the strategy pursued so far must be changed.
“It was tried only with the defense teams. We now know the result! Following the same path, we cannot expect a different result! To change the result, we must change the path!”, he wrote.
