Xhevdet Skëndaj, 73, has been airlifted to Tirana after being wounded today, September 20, in an assassination attempt in Sarandë.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the lower part of his body.
Following initial treatment at Sarandë Hospital, the 73-year-old will continue receiving treatment at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, where he will receive more specialized care.
According to available information, Skëndaj had no connection to the assassination attempt and was shot while he happened to be at the scene.
Artan Myrtaj, 44, who had a history of criminal activity, was killed in the attack.
