The White House is considering the possibility of reaching economic agreements with Russia even before the war in Ukraine ends. The information was published by The New York Times, which cited two sources close to the negotiations.

According to the American newspaper, this represents a departure from the strategy pursued by the United States so far, which aimed to push Russian President Vladimir Putin toward a compromise by escalating economic and military pressure on him.
The US administration, however, believes that economic relations could serve as a tool for advancing the negotiations. Through this approach, Washington also aims to convince the figures in Putin’s circle who are most skeptical of the United States that President Donald Trump wants to build a new relationship with Russia.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has placed the assets of Nestlé and Auchan under temporary state control by decree.
On the front, the Ukrainian Air Force said that it had shot down 69 drones and three Russian missiles overnight. The announcement came after Russian military aircraft violated Lithuania’s airspace and were escorted out by Italian fighter jets deployed as part of NATO.
