The Kosovo Police Inspectorate has requested the paid suspension of a police officer assigned to the Border Police Station at Pristina International Airport “Adem Jashari”.

The case was referred to the Police Inspectorate by the Kosovo Police on September 14, following suspicions of unlawful actions by the officer serving at the station.
According to the initial findings gathered during the investigation, on September 9, 2026, an airport employee reported losing €105.
A review of security camera footage and other investigative actions revealed that the money had been found by a female traveler, a Kosovo citizen living in Germany. She later handed the money to a police officer.
The Police Inspectorate said that, after receiving the case, it undertook the necessary procedures to collect, secure and administer the initial information and evidence.
Based on the documents administered, the officer admitted that he had taken the money but had neither handed it over nor handled it in accordance with the legal and institutional procedures applicable in such cases.
According to the documentation referred to by the Police Inspectorate, the police officer later put the €105 into the donation box of a charitable organization at the airport.
Assessing that there was reasonable suspicion and that suspension was necessary to ensure the investigation could proceed without obstruction, the Police Inspectorate recommended that the Kosovo Police suspend the officer with pay.
The investigation is being conducted into the criminal offenses of “Misappropriation in Office” and “Abuse of Foreign Property.” Police Inspectorate investigators, in full cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office, will continue further actions to clarify all the circumstances of the case.
