In accordance with the official deadline, six candidate lists were registered. Four of them were submitted by political coalitions, while the other two were submitted by groups of voters.
The candidate of the coalition led by SDSM is Jovica Radeski. The coalition for the 2026 extraordinary local elections also includes NSDP, the Democratic Action Party of Macedonia, the Party for Democratic Prosperity of Roma and Desnica.
The VLEN coalition will be represented by Jakup Useini, while Stojanço Radieski is the candidate of the “Your Macedonia” coalition. Arkin Jahiji is running on behalf of the National Alliance for Integration (NAI).
The other two names on the ballot come from groups of voters. Arife Idrizi was nominated by the group bearing her name, while Dushan Bogdanovski represents the “Dushan Bogdanovski” voters’ group.
The elections will be held on October 18. They were called after the then mayor of the municipality, Ivica Ilievski, died on June 23, 2026, at the age of 58.
With the closure of the candidacy submission process, Bërvenica has officially entered the electoral race with six candidates for leadership of the municipality.
