The Basic Prosecution Office in Peja has filed an indictment against Valmir Hajrullahu and Avdyl Kryeziu, suspected of defrauding a police officer by allegedly taking more than 134,000 euros from him over two years on the pretext that they would arrange a kidney transplant for him at a hospital in Turkey. Turkish national Yilmaz Tassoker is also suspected of having been involved in the scheme, but proceedings against him have been separated. RTK had previously reported on the case.

Hajrullahu, from Banullë in Lipjan, and Kryeziu, from Malisheva, will face charges of fraud. Meanwhile, the case against Turkish national Yilmaz Tassoker is being handled separately.
The indictment, obtained by RTK, states that Hajrullahu and Kryeziu allegedly acted against police officer A.B. between 2021 and 2023, convincing him that a false treatment opportunity was available.
“By falsely presenting facts and with the aim of obtaining unlawful material gain, he continuously defrauded and misled the injured party, A.B., causing material damage to his assets amounting to 134,761.00 euros,” the indictment obtained by RTK states.
According to the prosecution, Hajrullahu presented himself to the victim as a doctor undergoing specialization at Turkey’s “Acibadem” hospital. He allegedly promised the police officer that he would contact a doctor to arrange the transplant, while Yilmaz Tassoker presented himself as the person who would donate the kidney.
Shkodran Nikçi, spokesperson for the Peja Prosecution Office, said by email that, when filing the indictment, the prosecutor handling the case proposed that the court declare the defendants guilty and sentence them in accordance with the law for the criminal offenses with which they are charged.
Valmir Hajrullahu is known to law enforcement and justice authorities. The Basic Court in Ferizaj recently sentenced him to two years in prison and a 2,000-euro fine in another fraud case.
Another indictment against the same person is also being reviewed by the Department for Serious Crimes. In that case, he is accused of defrauding farmers through the nongovernmental organization Center for Advocacy and Diplomacy (QAD), while the alleged damage to the farmers is estimated at millions of euros.
