The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, held a meeting today with a delegation of 14 representatives from the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States. The delegation was part of the Atlantic Council’s “Balkans Forward Congressional Fellowship” program.
The discussion focused on the current situation in Kosovo, the country’s Euro-Atlantic perspective and the latest security developments in the Western Balkans.

During the meeting, Abdixhiku emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between Kosovo and the United States, describing it as an important foundation for Kosovo’s security, stability and development.
The LDK leader also praised the irreplaceable contribution of the United States to the history and consolidation of the state of Kosovo, while calling for the further strengthening of this strategic relationship.
Part of the discussion was also devoted to the Euro-Atlantic integration of Kosovo and the region, as well as the need for a continued American presence in support of peace, stability and the European perspective of the Western Balkans.
