Young people demand his resignation!

Greek outlet “Protothema” has published an article about the protests in Albania, focusing on allegations of police violence, the complaint filed with SPAK and growing support for the students from education unions.

According to the Greek media outlet, Edi Rama’s government is facing pressure on two fronts: calls for an investigation into responsibility for police interventions, and the mobilization of students, lecturers and teachers for new protests.

“Protothema” reports on the criminal complaint filed by the Res Publica center, organizations, lawyers, students and citizens, who are calling for an investigation into the conduct of police forces during protests in Tirana and other cities.

According to the complainants, more than 180 suspected incidents have been recorded, including assaults on protesters, disproportionate use of force, violent arrests and interventions by officers with covered faces and no identifying insignia.

The article notes that the complaint names Police Chief Skënder Hita and other officials.

It also calls for scrutiny of the roles of Prime Minister Edi Rama and Interior Minister Ervin Demo, including any orders that may have been issued and communications with the police operation commanders.
