It was PS MP Zegjine Çaushi who addressed her Democratic colleague, Xhelal Mziu, telling him that he had boycotted the territorial reform committee for four months.
“Don’t boycott it for four months, then go to the beach, sleep and nap at home, and come here asking for the two initiatives to be merged,” Zegjine Çaushi told MP Xhelal Mziu.
The latter responded ironically, saying, “When even Zegjineja gives you advice, that is a high standard, so it should be taken into consideration.”
Excerpt from the debate:
Zegjine Çaushi: If you were really so concerned about the territorial reform, Xhelal, you would have remembered it. Don’t boycott it for four months, then go to the beach, sleep and nap at home, and come here asking for the two initiatives to be merged.
Ulsi Manja: Ms Çaushi, was this beach comment intended only for Mr Mziu, or for everyone?
Xhelal Mziu: In fact, when Zegjineja gives you advice on every subject, that is truly a high standard, and you should take it into consideration too, Chairman, regarding the reprimands she gives you, because Zegjineja is closer to what the SP has set as its objective than to the standard. Therefore, I would like the committee to move toward enforcing the law, rather than following Zegjine’s recommendations, which lead nowhere except to a collapse of local government.
