Who is Viktor Bardhi, brother of Martin Bardhi, killed three years ago in revenge

This morning, 65-year-old Viktor Bardhi was killed in a shooting in Ndërfushas, Mirdita. According to preliminary information, Bardhi was found dead in his car, while the perpetrators are suspected of fleeing the scene in a vehicle that was later found burned.

Viktor Bardhi was the brother of Martin Bardhi, who was killed in Rrëshen in 2023. Martin Bardhi’s killing was followed by a series of serious criminal incidents in the Mirdita area and was linked to suspicions of longstanding conflicts and revenge.

This history is one of the leads investigators are expected to examine in connection with today’s attack on Viktor Bardhi.

However, authorities have not yet officially confirmed the motive for the killing.

Following the shooting, police launched an operation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

Who was Martin Bardhi?

Martin Bardhi was known to the Albanian justice authorities, as he was one of the people who attempted to kill Saimir Reçi, the nephew of Kastriot Reçi, who had also previously been killed.

The conflict between Enrik Bardhi, Martin Bardhi’s son, and Saimir Reçi began after one overtook the other on the city’s main road, an incident that was also accompanied by gunfire.

Saimir Reçi and Enrik Bardhi got out of their vehicles and became involved in a physical altercation in the middle of the city.

Enrik Bardhi then went home and, together with his father, Martin Bardhi, took a handgun and fired at the vehicle in which the nephew of Kastriot Reçi was traveling. Kastriot Reçi, the owner of a local television station in Lezhë, was killed by a sniper in Rrëshen in January 2021.
