Viktor Bardhi execution: Security cameras captured no vehicles, no evidence found in burned-out car, raising new suspicions

The murder of Viktor Bardhi, also known as Marku, in Ndërfushas, Mirdita, remains without any identified suspects, while the investigative team is working to reconstruct the perpetrators’ movements before and after the execution.

One of the main challenges facing the investigation is the terrain where the crime occurred. Security cameras are reportedly installed at the entrance to the village of Ndërfushas, but a review of the footage found no vehicles moving through the area around the time the murder is believed to have taken place.

For this reason, investigators suspect that the perpetrators may have used the underpass beneath the “Rruga e Kombit” highway to flee the scene.

Another possibility under consideration is that they crossed on foot beyond the road’s safety barriers, which are located only a few meters from where the ambush is believed to have been set up.

A review of security camera footage at the entry and exit points of Rrëshen has also so far failed to provide any trace of the vehicle suspected of having been used by the perpetrators.

The burned-out vehicle found in the Munaz area was discovered around 20 minutes after the 65-year-old’s relatives reported finding him dead.

However, no weapons or other evidence directly linking the vehicle to the execution were found inside it.

This has raised further suspicions among investigators, who have not ruled out the possibility that the burned-out vehicle was not the one used by the perpetrators to commit the crime.

This may have been a strategy used by the perpetrators to cover their tracks and steer the investigation in the wrong direction.

Investigators also suspect that the killers may have been assisted by other people, who could have been waiting for them in another vehicle after the murder and helped them leave the area.

The investigation continues in an effort to identify the perpetrators, determine how the assassination was organized, and identify those who may have helped them flee the scene.
