On Saturday, with the Central Election Commission’s official confirmation, the Vetëvendosje Movement positioned itself as the most successful political force in post-war Kosovo in terms of election victories.
According to an analysis of electoral data from the past 27 years, processed by KosovaPress, the June 7 result made this party the first and only one to have won five election cycles at the national level.

The political formation led by Albin Kurti has not suffered defeat in any elections since 2019.
It was precisely in that year that Vetëvendosje emerged for the first time as the leading force in the country. It then won again in 2021. It repeated that success twice more during 2025, on February 9 and December 28, while on June 7 it reached its peak by standing alone at the top with five victories, a record number.
Until this latest cycle, VV shared the same number of electoral triumphs with PDK.
PDK had previously recorded four victories. The most recent of them came in 2017, when it ran as PAN together with Aleanca and Nisma, while the victory before that was in 2014.
For the first time, PDK emerged victorious over all other parties in the 2007 elections. It sealed its second triumph in the 2010 elections.
Before 2007, the only election winner in Kosovo had been LDK.
In fact, that party has triumphed twice. It claimed its first victory in the first post-war elections, held in 2001, and its second in 2004, when it again faced no real competition.
For 22 years, LDK has not managed to win any other election cycle in Kosovo. It came closest to success in 2019, when it was defeated by Vetëvendosje by less than a two-point margin. VV won 26.27 percent of the vote, while the Democratic League remained at 24.548%.
