Armend Zemaj and Florian Dushi have officially submitted the lists of signatures calling for the convening of the Assembly of the Democratic League of Kosovo, with the aim of dismissing chairman Lumir Abdixhiku.
Immediately after this action, party secretary Ilir Ferati gave a statement to the media, clarifying the further institutional steps.

Ferati announced that a verification body will be set up to examine the validity of the collected signatures, and only after this process is completed will the concrete figures and subsequent actions be made public.
“The request, together with a copy of the signatures, has been accepted. At this stage, we cannot give a number, as we are entering the verification procedure. A commission will be formed for this purpose. As soon as the preliminary check is done, I or the chairman will issue an official announcement,” Ferati emphasized.
The two initiators, Zemaj and Dushi, did not disclose the total number of signatures secured, but claimed that it meets the criteria set out in the statute and expressed the expectation that the next step will be in accordance with LDK’s internal regulations.
For several days, the possibility of holding an Extraordinary Assembly has been rumored in the opposition party, where the fate of Abdixhiku’s leadership would be decided by a vote of delegates. We recall that a few months ago, after the December 28 elections, he survived a similar motion, initiated by him.
