JD Vance, the US vice president, said the latest round of peace talks with Iran produced what Washington had aimed for.
From Switzerland, where the negotiations are being held, Vance told reporters that yesterday turned out to be “very good” and that during the meetings with Iranian representatives, the US side achieved four main objectives. “We did exactly what we wanted to do,” he said.

According to him, the most important element for the US remains Iran’s acceptance that inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) be allowed to enter the country.
Vance described this development as a significant step toward curbing Iran’s nuclear program and the process of denuclearization. “This is an important moment for the American people,” he said.
The dialogue between the US and Iran is continuing as part of efforts toward an agreement that would reduce tensions and provide guarantees on the nuclear issue.
