The United States Embassy in Pristina has issued a notice بشأن the protest announced today in Skanderbeg Square.

The rally, organized by the Organization of War Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL-UÇK), is expected to begin at 12:00. The protest is being held in opposition to the verdict of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague concerning former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.
According to the embassy, the presence of a large number of citizens could cause temporary changes to road traffic in central Pristina.
Citizens have been advised to stay away from Skanderbeg Square and the surrounding areas while the protest is taking place, as there may be road closures and traffic disruptions.
The embassy has also urged people in the vicinity of the gathering to exercise caution and closely monitor the situation on the ground.
Meanwhile, the Police have called on participants to act with restraint and caution, not to throw hard objects and not to wear masks.
The notice was published by the US Embassy in the form of a “Demonstration Alert” for Pristina and is related to the protest planned for September 18, 2026.
The responsible institutions are expected to take the necessary measures to manage traffic during the gathering.
