Two citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, aged 30 and 44, have been arrested in Skopje on suspicion of the criminal offense of counterfeiting currency.

F.R. (30) and T.T. (44) were arrested on 03.08.2026 by officers from the Intervention Police Unit of the Skopje Internal Affairs Department.
According to the Interior Ministry, a search of the Volkswagen Golf in which the two individuals were traveling uncovered euro, US dollar, Swiss franc and British pound banknotes in various denominations. The total value of the money found is estimated at around €230,000.
The money was seized, while the suspects were taken to the Centar Police Station for further proceedings. The Interior Ministry said that once the case has been documented and in coordination with the public prosecutor, the appropriate criminal complaint will be filed for the offense stipulated under Article 268 of the Criminal Code.
