Interior Ministry announces the arrest of 9 people for drugs across the country, banned substances also found in Idrizovo Prison

Nine people were arrested over the past 24 hours in different parts of the country after narcotic substances were found on them during police checks. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also announced that during an inspection at Idrizovo Prison, white powdery substances and tablets were discovered on a convicted inmate.

According to the Interior Ministry, on the night between 29 and 30.06.2026 in Skopje, at several locations, police officers from the Skopje Internal Affairs Department deprived D.G. (29) and V.B. (30), both from Skopje, a 16-year-old from the Skopje area, as well as S.A. (25) from Turkey, residing in Skopje, of their liberty. During searches, a white solid substance, marijuana and a knife were found and confiscated.

In another case, on 29.06.2026 at 16:00, the Skopje Internal Affairs Department was notified by the Idrizovo Correctional Institution Prison that during a search of convicted inmate M.A. (53) from Skopje, who had returned from authorized leave, white powdery substances and tablets had been found.

On the same day, on 29.06.2026 at 10:00, at the entry point into the country at the Tabanovce Border Crossing, police arrested R.F. (26) from Germany. During the border check and an inspection of the passenger vehicle with German license plates in which he had been traveling, marijuana was discovered and seized in his personal luggage.

In Kavadarci, on 29.06.2026 at 16:00, police officers from the Kavadarci Internal Affairs Department stopped and arrested S.M. (44) and K.Ç. (44), both from Kavadarci. They stopped a Fiat passenger vehicle with Kavadarci license plates, driven by S.M., while K.Ç. was a passenger. During the search, white powdery substances and marijuana were found and confiscated from S.M.

In Negotino, on 30.06.2026 at 01:30, police from the Negotino Internal Affairs Department arrested a 17-year-old from Negotino after marijuana was found on him and seized during a search.

Meanwhile, on 29.06.2026 at 20:30, at the intersection of Boris Kidrič Street and Bllagoja Toska Street in Tetovo, police officers from the Tetovo Internal Affairs Department deprived B.SH. (23) from the village of Leshok, in the Tetovo area, of his liberty. During a search of his vehicle, marijuana, a grinder, a baseball bat and metal knuckles were found and seized on the back seat.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed that, after all cases are fully documented, the appropriate charges will be filed.
