Nine detained for drugs in the last 24 hours, Interior Ministry reports operations in several cities and at Idrizovo Prison

North Macedonia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that over the past 24 hours, nine people were deprived of their liberty in different parts of the country after narcotic substances were found on them during police checks. Also, during an inspection at Idrizovo Prison, white powdery substances and tablets were discovered on a convicted inmate.

According to the ministry, on 29/30.06.2026 in Skopje, at several locations, officers from the Skopje Internal Affairs Department arrested D.G. (29) and V.B. (30), both from Skopje, a 16-year-old from the Skopje area, and S.A. (25) from Turkey, residing in Skopje. During the checks, a white solid substance, marijuana, and a knife were found on them and seized.

On 29.06.2026 at 16:00, the Skopje Internal Affairs Department was notified by the Idrizovo Correctional Institution that during a search of inmate M.A. (53) from Skopje, who had returned from leave, white powdery substances and tablets were found on him.

At the Tabanovce border crossing, on 29.06.2026 at 10:00, upon entry into the country, police arrested R.F. (26) from Germany. During a border inspection and the check of a passenger vehicle with German license plates in which he had been traveling, marijuana was found in his personal luggage and seized.

That same day, at 16:00 in Kavadarci, police officers from the Kavadarci Internal Affairs Department deprived S.M. (44) and K.Ç. (44), both from Kavadarci, of their liberty. They stopped a Fiat passenger vehicle with Kavadarci license plates, driven by S.M., while K.Ç. was in the car as a passenger. During the search, white powdery substances and marijuana were found on S.M. and confiscated.

In Negotino, on 30.06.2026 at 01:30, officers from the Negotino Internal Affairs Department detained a 17-year-old from the city after marijuana was found on him and seized during a search.

Meanwhile, on 29.06.2026 at 20:30, at the intersection of Boris Kidrič Street and Bllagoja Toska Street in Tetovo, police officers from the Tetovo Internal Affairs Department arrested B.SH. (23) from the village of Leshok, in the Tetovo area. During a search of his vehicle, marijuana, a grinder, a baseball bat, and metal knuckles were found on the back seat and seized, the ministry said.

The ministry added that after all cases are fully documented, the appropriate charges will be filed.
