US President Donald Trump said Washington is being cautious in its dealings with Iran and that contacts with Tehran are limited.

After two days without making any statements, Trump spoke briefly by phone to Axios, stressing that the US administration is closely monitoring the situation in Iran.
“We are conducting only a limited form of negotiations with them. We are simply watching Iran,” the US president said.
Trump also spoke about the financial difficulties that, according to him, the country is facing, citing high inflation and a lack of funds.
According to the US president, Tehran is in “a terrible situation” economically and does not have enough money to pay its troops.
