Donald Trump said that Iran has agreed to accept “the highest-level nuclear inspections” indefinitely, even though authorities in Tehran have denied that there has been any change in their position on international oversight of the nuclear program.
The comments came after the first round of talks between the United States and Iran, held in Switzerland. A day earlier, Vice President JD Vance said the negotiations had reached an “important point,” claiming that Iran had agreed to the return of inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that Tehran had agreed to inspections “in the future, indefinitely,” and presented this as a guarantee of “nuclear honesty.” He added that, without an agreement on inspections, there would be no continuation of talks between the sides.
Hours later, Iran’s Foreign Ministry rejected those statements, stressing that cooperation with the IAEA would continue only on the basis of existing procedures and that no new commitment had been made in the negotiations.
In the same post, the American president also announced that the United States would continue to allow the easing of some economic restrictions on Iran. According to him, the released funds would be used to purchase food products and medical supplies from the United States, including corn, wheat, and soybeans.
Trump described the situation in Iran as a humanitarian crisis and said aid should be provided immediately. He added that, despite the public discrepancies over the contents of the agreement, negotiations between the two countries “are going well.”
