According to him, around 37 to 38 kilometres of the motorway’s total 57 kilometres have already been opened to traffic. He said intensive work is continuing on the remaining section, while the route from Izvor, through the tunnel, to Vrbyani is expected to become operational by the end of October.
Trajanovski stressed that the deadline for completing the entire motorway, in May next year, has not changed. He explained that the project is progressing according to the timetable set under the third construction loan, while the final phase also includes new technical solutions for the galleries, which were not part of the original project.
The Kichevo-Ohrid motorway is financed through three loans and, according to Trajanovski, its total value will reach around 800 million euros.
He also said that work is progressing at a satisfactory pace on the sections being built by the company Bechtel and Enka, including the Prilep-Bitola, Tetovo-Gostivar and Gostivar-Bukojchani roads.
Regarding the Kichevo-Bukojchani section, Trajanovski said that the contractor selection procedure is currently under way, while construction work is expected to begin in September.
