The Marsala area was hit by powerful winds that overturned cars, damaged buildings and created chaos on the roads.
Videos and photographs shared on social media show a massive cloud of dust and debris moving along the coastline. The force of the wind lifted various objects into the air and overturned vehicles.

Two people suffered serious injuries after the car they were traveling in was forced off the road and ended up overturned in a ditch. So far, there is no clear information about their health.
Bad weather also struck the Alcide De Gasperi school in the Strasatti area. During classes, a twin whirlwind swept through the building and injured several children.
La Sicilia reported that the winds knocked over bookshelves and shattered windowpanes, causing fear among students and staff. Emergency teams went to the school to provide the injured with the necessary assistance.

The injuries sustained on the school premises are not considered life-threatening, but one boy was rushed to hospital.

The storm’s impact was also evident in other buildings, where roofs were damaged and debris was scattered across the streets. Footage from the scene shows overturned cars and thick clouds of dust covering the coastal area.
The region was hit for several hours by storms and heavy rainfall, particularly in the Trapani area and along the Tyrrhenian coast, further worsening the weather situation.
Authorities have begun assessing the damage caused by the extreme weather, while footage coming from Marsala bears witness to the scale of the unusual phenomenon.
