Tirana/Man found dead in vehicle identified as Ismet Habili; police investigate

A 45-year-old man died in Tirana this evening, while the circumstances of the incident remain unclear.

The victim was identified as Ismet Habili, who was found lifeless inside his vehicle. The car in which his body was found is registered in his name.

Initial reports said a vehicle had been involved in an accident, but the investigation later took a different turn after it was suspected that Habili had been shot. It has not yet been determined whether this was a murder or a suicide.

On October 20, 2026, at around 8:20 p.m., the Police Operations Room received a report of a vehicle accident on Mihal Popi Street, in the “1 Maji” neighborhood.

Police officers went immediately to the scene, where they found citizen I. H. lifeless inside a Volvo vehicle.

The investigative team, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is continuing its work to carry out procedural actions and fully establish the circumstances of the incident.
