In his request for information, Koci asked anyone who knows anything about the incident on the Skopje-Blace motorway section, where Ejup Tërnava, Xhenet Tërnava and Fatmire Shabani died, to contact him in writing.

Speaking in his capacity as the lawyer representing the victims’ families, he sought information about which company built this section of the road, who was tasked with supervising the work and who was responsible for securing the section.

According to him, this section of the road was officially closed to traffic. However, at the time of the accident, the entrance through which the vehicle entered the section had not been physically blocked.

Approximately 300 metres farther down is another entrance to the same section, which, unlike the first, had been physically blocked.

For this reason, Koci is seeking clarification as to why the two entrances to the same section of road were not secured in the same manner.

He also asked whether the entrance used by the vehicle had been physically blocked in the days or weeks before the accident. If so, the lawyer wants to know how long the closure had remained in place and at what point the situation changed.

Another issue requiring clarification is who physically blocked the entrance after the accident, when it was done and on whose orders.

Koci asked anyone in possession of photographs, videos, documents or any other information that could help shed light on the case to send it to him in writing, in any form.

He said that he would submit all relevant information to the competent Prosecutor’s Office in North Macedonia so that it could be reviewed as part of the proceedings.

Ejup Tërnava, Xhenet Tërnava and Fatmire Shabani, all three citizens of Kosovo, lost their lives in a serious accident in Skopje on July 19 of this year, on the Skopje-Blace road./INA/
