Ashley Garibay, 23, from Stockton, California, was one of the victims of the shooting that shocked Idaho. The young woman was working at the newly opened In-N-Out Burger restaurant in the city of Twin Falls when 24-year-old Chad Williams entered the premises with a gun and opened fire on customers and employees.

Garibay’s death was announced by her family and friends, who shared touching messages on social media. “My heart breaks when I look at your photographs and realize that now they will be nothing but memories,” her friend Alissa Juarez wrote.
On Facebook, the 23-year-old’s mother, Sabrina Garibay, posted a photograph of herself with her daughter. Dozens of people offered their condolences and described Ashley as a kind and lively young woman.
Lynsi Snyder, president of In-N-Out Burger, also expressed her grief over the loss of the young employee.
“She cared for our most important asset – our customers. Her life was taken by a person who valued neither the lives of others nor his own. We will stand by the victims’ families and all the employees who experienced this tragic event,” Snyder said.
Ashley Garibay was one of three people killed in the attack. Among the victims was also 59-year-old Cristopher Claunch, who was visiting the restaurant for the first time since it opened on July 24.
The shooting was reported at around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks described the scene as “extremely chaotic,” saying that the attack began inside the restaurant and later continued in the parking lot.
According to witnesses, the gunman emerged from the drive-thru area carrying an AR-style rifle. At that moment, he exchanged fire with two armed civilians who were at the scene.
Authorities said that 24-year-old Chad Williams had acted alone. After the exchange of gunfire, he left the scene and was later found dead after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation to determine the motive for the attack is ongoing. Meanwhile, the Twin Falls community and the victims’ families are coping with the grief following one of the most serious incidents in the area in recent years.
