On the journey to Skopje, the train will stop at Zelenikovo Novo, Oreshan, Jane Sandanski, Dračevo and Lisiče before arriving at Skopje Railway Station.
The first departure from Zelenikovo is scheduled for 6:20 a.m. The other journeys will take place at 8:30, 12:26, 14:00, 16:25, 18:30, 20:12 and 21:55.
The service in the opposite direction will depart from Skopje Railway Station at 5:32 a.m., with subsequent departures at 7:30, 11:40, 13:20, 15:42, 17:45, 19:12 and 20:56.
The journey from Zelenikovo to Skopje will take between 24 and 28 minutes, depending on the departure. The return journey from Skopje will take between 24 and 26 minutes.
This schedule will be in effect from September 1 through December 31, 2026.
The restoration of the connection is expected to be important for residents of Zelenikovo, Oreshan, Dračevo, Lisiče and the surrounding areas who travel to the capital every day.
The line’s efficiency will also depend on how well the train schedules align with working hours, school schedules and other public transport services in Skopje.
The reopening of the line comes at a time when passenger rail transport in the country is operating on a limited scale. Currently, ten pairs of passenger trains operate on Macedonian railways: three pairs on routes from Skopje toward Bitola and Veles, as well as two pairs toward Kumanovo and Gevgelija.
Some previous services have been discontinued or temporarily suspended. Due to the reconstruction of the Skopje–Zelenikovo section, two trains from Skopje to Veles and one train to Bitola have been removed. Meanwhile, there are currently no international trains to Greece, Serbia and Kosovo.
Since May 2021, trains have not operated from Skopje to Kičevo and Kočani.
