The Time for Words Is Over”/ Mehdi Malkaj Urges Protesters Outside the Prime Minister’s Office: Let’s Drag Rama Out of the Building and Throw Him into the Lana

During the protest held outside the Prime Minister’s Office, Mehdi Malkaj, a well-known actor beloved by Albanians, delivered a fiery speech, declaring that Rama should be dragged out of the building.

Malkaj said the applause from those present had made him feel obliged to speak. He addressed the protesters as friends and comrades, stressing that the rally had brought together people who were neither left-wing nor right-wing, but citizens who love their homeland and want to “pull out the teeth” of the man who, according to the actor, is selling off the country piece by piece.

“There is no more time for words,” he declared, adding that the necessary action must now be taken and that, if Rama does not leave of his own accord, the protesters should drag him out of the Prime Minister’s Office. Malkaj called him a “sorry excuse for a man” and also proposed another option: to carry him out by his feet to the beat of a tambourine, lift him up with a shout of “opa” and throw him into the Lana, while pelting him with tomatoes, “bam, bam.”

According to him, such an action would serve as a warning to the next prime minister, who would think that his predecessor had been thrown into the Lana and could not know what might happen to him. In conclusion, Malkaj said that Albanians are brave when they use their heads.
