In addition to the removal of the current government, the protesters say they also want to change what they consider the “old political caste,” as well as reform the establishment that, according to them, has dominated the country’s political life for 36 years.
These protests are held every evening. Citizens initially gather in front of the Prime Minister’s Office and then continue with a march through Tirana’s main streets, where they voice their dissatisfaction through banners, chants, and public speeches.
According to the participants, the gatherings are peaceful and represent an expression of civic engagement, as well as the democratic exercise of the right to protest.
